Reducing our Footprint, one step at a time

Here at Spitting Feathers, we’re passionate about two things: crafting delicious beers and protecting the environment. That’s why we’ve implemented a range of sustainability practices to ensure every sip of your favourite brew is good for you and the planet.

Harnessing the Power of the Sun: Forget relying on the grid for all our cooling needs. We’ve installed solar panels on our cool room, letting the sun’s rays take care of business during the hot summer months. This not only reduces our carbon footprint but helps us brew with a touch of sunshine (well, almost!).
Mother Nature’s Helping Hand: When the weather cools down, we ditch the energy-intensive cool room and embrace the natural elements. By cleverly utilizing the cooler temperatures, we can still produce high-quality brews without the added environmental impact.
From Brewery to Farm, Full Circle: We believe in minimizing waste and closing the loop. That’s why our spent grain gets a second life on our very own farm! It’s delivered straight to our happy and healthy pigs, reducing waste and supporting sustainable farming practices for other local businesses.
Hops with a Purpose: Even our leftover hops find a new purpose. We compost them all, creating a nutrient-rich fertilizer that’s then used on the farm. It’s a beautiful cycle that keeps waste out of landfills and promotes healthy crops.
Buzzing with Sustainability: We’re firm believers in biodiversity, and that’s why we have an on-site beehive! The honey these busy bees produce adds a touch of sweetness to our delicious Honey Trap beer. It’s a win-win for the environment and your taste buds.
Eco-Friendly Packaging: We care about what goes into your beer and what goes around it. That’s why all our cans are packaged using recycled cardboard. We’ve also made the switch to recycled paper for our invoices, ensuring every aspect of our business is as eco-friendly as possible.
At Spitting Feathers, we’re committed to continuous improvement. We’re always exploring new ways to reduce our environmental impact and brew even more sustainable beers.
