The Brewery Tap Chester
Cask ales, craft beer and freshly prepared food in Chester’s historic Gamul House.
Medieval Banqueting Hall. Independent Beer.
A Toast to the History of Chester.
Step inside The Brewery Tap on Chester’s Lower Bridge Street and you’ll find a spacious historic hall with high ceilings, exposed timber beams and a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. Set within Gamul House, it’s a distinctive place to settle in for a pint, meet friends or enjoy a leisurely meal.
The bar serves our own Spitting Feathers ales alongside a changing selection of guest cask and craft keg beers, cider, wines and spirits. Freshly prepared food from King’s Kitchen completes the experience, whether you’re dropping in for lunch or making an evening of it.

Meet The Team
Will – General Manager
Hi I’m Will, General Manager at The Brewery Tap. Originally from Preston but I moved to Chester for university where I studied business and economics. Outside of work I suffer through Manchester United matches and enjoy any beer that is hazy, especially in the sun.
Jade – Assistant Manager
I’m Jade, Assistant Manager at The Brewery Tap. Originally from Derry/Londonderry, I moved to Chester to study forensic psychology—luckily, I’ve never needed it behind the bar! My Northern Irish accent usually gets noticed first, closely followed by my love of craft beer.
Lewis – Assistant Manager
Hey, I’m Lewis, Assistant Manager at The Brewery Tap. Originally from Ellesmere Port, I’ve tried just about every job under the sun since I was 16 before finding my place here. Outside work, I enjoy exploring all kinds of drinks, with a particular love of whisky, wine and mead.
