“A magnificent pub”
The Brewery Tap resides within a remarkable historic great hall, which originated in medieval times and was reconstructed during the 17th century (the exterior brick façade was added after the Great Fire of London). This location provides a splendid ambiance for patrons to indulge in our assortment of craft beers.
At “The Tap,” the heart of our establishment is the bar, where we proudly serve a wide variety of cask and keg beers, ciders, and a well-curated selection of wines and spirits. Alongside our renowned Spitting Feathers beers, we also offer a carefully chosen assortment of guest beers sourced from local breweries as well as those from more distant locations.
Opening Hours are from 12:00pm to 11:00pm Daily
We happily invite families with children and four-legged friends to join us until 8:00pm.

Chef Patron Andrew, a seasoned veteran in the local dining scene, has been a prominent figure in the northern culinary world for nearly two decades. His journey began at The Plough in Christleton, where he was an integral part of the kitchen team that led the pub to be crowned “Best Gastropub in the UK” shortly after he arrived in Chester.
After leaving a mark at The Plough, Andrew took the reins of the immensely successful Ring O’Bells, also in Christleton, and guided its kitchen to new heights since 2009. However, all great adventures eventually evolve, and it is with a heart full of passion for exceptional pubs that Andrew now ventures into a new chapter.
“While my colleagues pursued fine dining opportunities with esteemed chefs like Gordon Ramsay and Michael Caines during our college days, my heart has always been devoted to creating outstanding pub cuisine,” Andrew shares with enthusiasm.
The Brewery Tap, unquestionably one of Chester’s most renowned pubs, has become the canvas for Andrew’s culinary artistry. With his wealth of experience in the industry, there is no doubt that King’s Kitchen @ The Tap will soon become one of Chester’s most sought-after dining destinations.
Expect to indulge in a tantalizing array of pub classics at Kings Kitchen – from Fish & Chips prepared with our own Spitting Feathers beer for that irresistible crisp batter to a burger that will leave you speechless. And let’s not forget the heavenly Sunday roast that will make your taste buds sing praises! But there’s more in store, as Andrew plans to introduce Gyros to the Friday and Saturday night offerings in the coming weeks.
Andrew exclaims, “My years in the hospitality world have taught me so much, and now, it’s time to embark on my own culinary adventure and show Chester the unique flair I bring to the table!”
Joining Andrew on this gastronomic journey is his trusted right-hand man, Tony, who was his partner in crime back at The Plough, Christleton. Together, they churned out some of the finest cuisine in the area, earning accolades that speak to their culinary prowess. Now, they are set to elevate the city’s dining experience to a whole new level.
And with the support of Mal and Will at The Brewery Tap, who share a deep passion for their craft, this dynamic team has found the perfect match for their culinary aspirations. King’s Kitchen @ The Tap promises to be a match made in heaven, a haven of delectable delights, and an unmissable destination for food enthusiasts throughout Chester.
Come and savour the flavours of King’s Kitchen @ The Tap, where Chef Patron Andrew and his team have prepared a culinary haven that will enchant your senses and leave you craving for more. The grand opening awaits, so join us for an unforgettable dining experience like no other!
